Ole Miss Alumni in NFL Playoffs: Wild Card Weekend Recap
Oxford, Miss. — Five former Ole Miss Rebels saw action during NFL Wild Card weekend, according to an update from OleMissSports.com. Three alumni remain in the hunt for the Super Bowl as the NFL Conference Championship round approaches.
Ben Brown, an offensive lineman for the New England Patriots, played four snaps on special teams in a 28-16 victory over the Houston Texans. Tight end Evan Engram contributed with one reception for seven yards in the Denver Broncos’ 33-30 win against the Buffalo Bills.
Defensive tackle D.J. Jones, also with the Broncos, played 41 snaps in their victory. His Pro Football Focus grade of 76.0 ranked fifth among defensive tackles this week, according to the site. Jaylon Jones, a cornerback for the Chicago Bears, participated in 22 special teams snaps and recorded one tackle in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Dawson Knox, a tight end for the Buffalo Bills, caught three passes for 32 yards in a defeat to the Denver Broncos. The NFL playoff run continues for these players as they aim for a Super Bowl appearance.
