STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State wide receiver Anthony Evans III has been named to the 2026 Paul Hornung Award preseason watch list, the Louisville Sports Commission announced Monday.
The award, established in 2010 and presented by Texas Roadhouse, honors the legacy of Hall of Famer Paul Hornung, known for his versatility as both a player and a pioneer in football. The award recognizes the most versatile college football players who demonstrate exceptional performance across multiple roles, including offensive, defensive, and special teams duties.
Evans had a breakout 2025 season, establishing himself as a key part of the Bulldogs’ offense. He recorded a team-high 67 receptions for 831 yards and four touchdowns, all career bests. In addition to his receiving duties, Evans has served as a primary return specialist, showcasing the multifaceted skill set the Hornung Award seeks to honor.
