Mississippi State Track and Field Concludes Regular Season at Maroon and White Tune Up
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State’s track and field team finished its regular season with the Maroon and White Tune Up meet, hosted on campus Friday and Saturday. The Bulldogs showcased resilience despite inclement weather, according to head coach Chris Woods.
Woods praised the team’s performance, saying, “The team concluded the regular season on a high note. I’m proud of them for not letting weather distract from the task at hand. There were solid performances across the board, and the team is in a good position ahead of the postseason. The entire coaching staff is thankful to the senior class and hopes they have had the best experience possible while here at MSU.”
On the meet’s second day, 14 athletes achieved personal bests. Notably, freshman Ife Adisa ran the 800 meters in 2:03.41, setting a new personal best and program record for freshmen. Her time is now the second-fastest in Mississippi State history in the outdoor 800m and earned her the event win.
The Bulldogs claimed 11 event wins during the meet, dominating on their home track. They now prepare for the SEC Outdoor Championships, scheduled to be hosted by Auburn in two weeks.
