Mississippi State to Return to Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field

ARLINGTON, Texas — Mississippi State will participate in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field for the second consecutive year, the school announced. The Bulldogs are among six teams selected to play at the home of the Texas Rangers from March 5-7, 2027.

The field also includes Dallas Baptist, Ole Miss, Penn State, UCLA and Wake Forest. Specific matchups and game times will be announced later and will be streamed via FloCollege, according to the school.

MSU head coach Brian O’Connor expressed enthusiasm about returning. “We’re excited for the opportunity to compete in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series again next year,” he said. “We had an awesome experience in Arlington last year and got to test ourselves against quality competition early on in the season. It gave us a good barometer of where our team was at heading into conference play.”

Last year, Mississippi State defeated Arizona State 8-4 and Virginia Tech 15-8 before falling to UCLA 8-7 in 10 innings in the championship game. The Bulldogs also opened their 2021 season at Globe Life Field, going 2-1 at the event with wins over Texas and Texas Tech en route to their first national championship.

Jared Schrom, senior vice president of REV Entertainment, called the event “one of the nation’s premier regular-season college baseball events.” He added, “The outstanding programs and passionate fan bases that return each year help showcase the sport at its highest level and create an exceptional experience for everyone involved.”
