STARKVILLE, Miss. — A scheduled soccer match between Mississippi State and Arkansas State was canceled after 30 minutes because of lightning in the Starkville area, according to university officials.

The game was in the early stages, with Mississippi State leading 1-0 on a goal from Chiara Tappe when play was halted. The teams will attempt to find a makeup date, but no details have been announced, the university said.
