Mississippi State University continues to be a significant source of professional baseball talent. In 2026, 42 former Bulldogs are competing at various levels, including nine in Major League Baseball, according to a release from the school.

Among the MSU alumni in the majors are All-Stars Adam Frazier, Brent Rooker, Jordan Westburg, and Brandon Woodruff, as well as World Series champion Nathaniel Lowe. MSU has produced 72 Major Leaguers, 13 All-Stars, seven World Series champions, and 20 first-round draft picks throughout its history, the university said.

Current MLB players include Eric Cerantola of the Kansas City Royals, who was recalled in late June but designated for assignment on July 2. Other notable players include J.T. Ginn of the Oakland Athletics, Nathaniel Lowe of the Cincinnati Reds, and Jake Mangum of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Rooker is scheduled for season-ending knee surgery, and Westburg is recovering from Tommy John surgery, which will keep him out for the 2026 season.

MSU alumni also continue to perform in minor leagues across the country. J.P. France is with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Houston Astros), Tyson Hardin with Nashville (Milwaukee Brewers), and Landon Sims with the Reno Aces (Arizona Diamondbacks). Several others are making strides in Double-A and Single-A levels, including Will Bednar, Jurrangelo Cijntje, and Hunter Hines.

The school highlighted its ongoing contributions to professional baseball, emphasizing the achievements of its former players across Major League Baseball and minor leagues during the 2026 season.
