Mississippi State’s Mia Davidson Returns to AUSL Play with Portland

Portland catcher Mia Davidson returned to AUSL action after missing last season due to injury, according to team reports. Davidson debuted during the Texas series and has appeared in every game since June 26, providing a boost behind the plate.

On June 27, Davidson drove in her first run of the season with a single in Portland’s 6-3 win over Texas. She also caught in the team’s 5-2 victory on June 28. Her return has helped stabilize Portland’s defense and offense after a full season away, the team said.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma City pitcher Peja Goold continued to work out of the bullpen. Goold pitched a brief outing against Utah, facing four batters and recording one out. She also appeared in relief during Oklahoma City’s June 27 game against Chicago, working an inning.

Fellow Bulldog Sierra Sacco-Ferrie has been inactive since June 21 due to injury. Before her absence, she reached base in five straight games and hit a triple, double and RBI during that stretch.

Portland and Oklahoma City are scheduled to meet again July 4 and 5, setting up another series of Bulldog matchups.
