Mississippi State Hosts Undefeated Vanderbilt in Women’s Basketball
Mississippi State women’s basketball will host undefeated Vanderbilt on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville. The game will be televised on SEC Network and can be heard on the MSU Radio Network at Starkville 96.1.
The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 14-4 overall record and a 1-3 mark in SEC play. They are coming off a loss to 18th-ranked Ole Miss. Mississippi State’s leading scorers include Madison Francis and Chandler Prater, each averaging 13.1 points per game. Francis also contributes 10.0 rebounds and leads the SEC with 3.1 blocks per game, while Prater shoots 45.7% from the floor and 41.5% beyond the arc.
Favour Nwaedozi posted her eighth double-double in the last game, with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Destiney McPhaul adds 12 points and leads the team with four assists and two steals. Four Bulldogs are averaging double figures in scoring, and Jaylah Lampley is close to reaching 10 points per game with an average of 9.8.
Vanderbilt, ranked fifth nationally, is one of three undefeated teams in the country. The Commodores are 17-0 overall and 4-0 in SEC play.
