Mississippi State Adds Italian Forward Ludovica Sammartino to Women’s Basketball Roster

Mississippi State women’s basketball announced Friday the addition of Ludovica Sammartino to its roster for the 2026-27 season. Sammartino is a 6-foot-2 forward from Sicily, Italy.

She has played in Italy’s top league, LBF Serie A1, for Sassari, and has also competed in the EuroCup. During her time in Serie A1, Sammartino scored a season-best 14 points, making three of four three-point attempts.

Before joining Serie A1, Sammartino played in Serie A2 for Akronos Moncalieri, where she averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. She has also represented Italy internationally, participating with the Italian U18 national team and in FIBA 3×3 competitions.
