Millsaps Women’s Soccer Looks to Contend for Conference Title in 2026
The Millsaps College women’s soccer team is preparing for the 2026 season with high expectations. The team, which features 26 student-athletes, aims to win its first conference title since 2025, according to the school’s athletic department.
Led by second-year head coach Luke Schwarz, the team includes 13 freshmen, 12 returning players, and one transfer. Senior Alex Bremond, who led the team last season with seven goals and 21 overall, is expected to be a key contributor. Bremond also ranked second on the team with three assists and had 13 shots on goal.
Junior Suzanna Busbee, a veteran leader, started all 17 games in 2025 and contributed four goals and one assist. Senior Becca Quick and Reese Brasseaux, both entering their final seasons, also are expected to play pivotal roles. Transfer Kaleigh Toenjes from Adams State University and returning injured player Zillia Binaim are among the players poised for breakout seasons.
The sophomore class, featuring players like Anahi Sanchez, Ava Sutton, and Jordyn Templeton, is expected to make an impact. Sutton scored two goals in 2025, while Templeton, Crovetto, and Olivas each scored once during their freshman seasons. The team also added 13 freshmen, the largest incoming class in recent years.
The team’s schedule includes 10 home matches and eight conference games. The season opens with two exhibition matches in August, followed by a series of non-conference and conference contests through November. The team is aiming to qualify for the Southern Athletic Association Championship, which will be hosted by Berry College.
