In the ninth, LSU took an 8-7 lead on a single by William Patrick, but Mississippi State responded in the bottom half. Ryder Woodson scored on an error, and Noah Sullivan was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force extra innings. Milewski’s walk-off shot sealed the win for the Bulldogs, who improved to 32-10 overall and 11-8 in SEC play.

Mississippi State’s bullpen held LSU to one run over the final 7 1/3 innings after starter Tomas Valincius was pulled in the fourth. Dane Burns earned the win, improving to 2-0. LSU’s Omar Serna Jr. went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Sullivan and Bevis contributed offensively for MSU.
