Hinds Women’s Soccer Tops MUW 2-0 on the Road

The Hinds Community College women’s soccer team defeated Mississippi University for Women 2-0 Tuesday evening on the road, securing the win with two second-half goals 34 seconds apart.

After a scoreless first half, Mary Elise Taylor broke the deadlock in the 61st minute, assisted by Jordan Polk. Just over half a minute later, Polk scored unassisted to double the lead, with Amelia Terry credited with the assist.

The Hinds defense maintained the shutout, with goalkeeper Anna-Lynn Bishop making one save in the victory. The Lady Eagles will have the weekend off before returning to play against East Mississippi Community College on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Tom Shepherd Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
