Hinds Softball’s Abigail McLean Named MACCC Pitcher of the Week
Raymond, Mississippi — Freshman pitcher Abigail McLean of Hinds Community College has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
McLean delivered two dominant performances, helping the Lady Eagles secure important conference victories. She finished the week with a 2-0 record, 12 scoreless innings pitched, allowing four hits, and striking out seven. Her earned run average was a perfect 0.00.
Her most notable outing came in game two against East Central Community College, where she threw a no-hitter in a 9-0 run-rule victory. She pitched five innings without allowing a hit, demonstrating complete control on the mound.
McLean also contributed offensively, batting .545 (6-for-11) with two doubles, two RBIs, and a .727 slugging percentage. She followed her no-hitter with a complete-game shutout against No. 17 Northwest Mississippi Community College in a 3-0 victory.
