Hinds Community College Track & Field Heads to NJCAA Indoor Nationals

TOPEKA, Kan. — The Hinds Community College track and field teams enter the NJCAA Indoor National Championships with confidence and momentum, following a successful indoor season filled with personal bests and program-record marks.

On the women’s side, defending national champion Queen Usunobun leads the charge in the 400 meters. She aims to defend her title and add more hardware to her collection. Angel Cumberbatch is also competing in the 400 and is trending toward peak form, providing Hinds with another scoring opportunity. Akaree Roberts enters the meet confident in the 600 meters and is expected to contend for a finals spot. Caneila Hope contributes speed and experience in the short sprints, while Mikenzy Hodges-Woods is set to challenge top competitors in the 60-meter hurdles. The women’s 4×400-meter relay team, ranked No. 2 nationally, is a major contender for the title and could significantly impact the team standings.

On the men’s side, Hinds relies on a talented sprint group featuring Jayval Wright, Curtis Coleman III, and Raheem Pinnock. All three are expected to score in the 60 and 200 meters, strengthening the team’s position. Matthew Sullivan is a key competitor in the 60-meter hurdles, with the potential to make a notable impact.
