Harris and Mallory Earn SWAC Weekly Track Honors

Dalon Harris and Malayna Mallory were named weekly award winners by the Southwestern Athletic Conference on Wednesday afternoon, following their performances at the Samford Bulldog Open.

Harris, a senior, claimed his first SWAC Field Performer of the Week honor after winning the men’s shot put with a throw of 15.48 meters.

Mallory, a freshman, was recognized as both Women’s Field Athlete and Newcomer of the Week. She set a personal best in the weight throw with a distance of 16.48 meters, which placed her second among all competitors. Mallory also finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 11.78 meters.
