Former Coahoma Running Back Jakobi Jackson Transfers to Ohio State

Jakobi Jackson, a native of Pensacola, Florida, has announced his commitment to Ohio State after an official visit to Columbus, according to sources familiar with the situation. Jackson previously played at the University of Florida and now joins the Buckeyes in the Big Ten conference.

Jackson, a 6-foot, 215-pound running back, made a name for himself at Coahoma Community College, where he arrived with a powerful downhill running style. During his time with the Tigers, he proved to be a dependable player, especially notable for a game against Mississippi Delta Community College, where he rushed for 83 yards on 10 carries, averaging 8.3 yards per attempt.

Since transferring from Coahoma, Jackson has gained SEC experience at Florida, rushing for 607 yards and 11 touchdowns on 122 carries. He also caught 11 passes for 103 yards. His progression from junior college to the SEC and now to the Big Ten highlights the value of JUCO programs like Coahoma in developing college-level talent.
