Delta State University will compete in the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament for the 38th time in school history, according to school officials.
The Statesmen finished the regular season with a 31-21 record and earned the No. 4 seed in the South Region. They will travel to Pensacola, Florida, for the regional tournament hosted by the University of West Florida.
Delta State is set to face the No. 5 seed, Lee University, in a four-team double-elimination bracket. The first game is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. Central Daylight Time at Jim Spooner Field on the UWF campus.
The tournament marks another milestone for the program, which has a long history of postseason appearances, officials said.
