Cleveland Baseball Announces Summer Kids’ Camp

CLEVELAND, Miss. — Head Baseball Coach Rodney Batts has announced a youth camp set for June 8-10 at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field. The camp aims to help participants improve their baseball skills and develop proper playing habits.

According to Batts, the camp emphasizes teaching fundamentals across all aspects of the game, including hitting, base running, and fielding. Each camper receives individual attention at their chosen position. Intra-squad games are played daily to give participants practical experience.

Organizers focus on blending physical and mental skill development with fun and hard work. The goal is to create a positive environment where young players can learn and enjoy the sport. Campers are encouraged to apply their knowledge in game situations to build confidence and athletic skills.

The camp costs $120, with a discounted rate of $100 for Delta State employees. Participants are asked to arrive between 8:30 and 9 a.m. daily. Attendees should bring practice clothes, shoes, a glove or mitt, and a batting helmet. Shorts are not allowed during games but can be worn during practice sessions.
