Belhaven Women’s Soccer Earns Academic Honor from United Soccer Coaches
The Belhaven University women’s soccer team has been recognized with the 2025-26 United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, the organization announced Friday. The team posted a 3.55 GPA during the academic year, meeting the criteria of a team GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify for the honor.
Belhaven was among 451 women’s teams nationwide to receive the recognition. Overall, 777 college programs earned the award, including 326 men’s teams. The Blazers are one of four teams from the Collegiate Conference of the South to be honored, along with Covenant, Maryville, and Piedmont.
The award comes less than a month after 25 Belhaven players were named to the CCS Academic All-Conference Team. The university led all conference schools with 137 student-athletes earning the honor, which requires a minimum GPA of 3.30 during the academic year.
Belhaven finished the 2025 season with a 14-5-3 record, won its first CCS championship, and made its first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The 14 victories were the most for the program since 2001.
