Belhaven Names Thomas Blake as Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach
Jackson, Miss. — Belhaven University is welcoming back Thomas Blake as an assistant coach for its women’s soccer team, effective ahead of the 2026 season. Blake previously played for the Blazers and has spent recent years working with college, high school, and club programs.
Blake’s most recent role was at East Central Community College, where he contributed to a staff that earned men’s staff of the year honors in 2025. He assisted with training, recruiting, and player development for both men’s and women’s teams. Prior to that, he coached boys and girls programs at DeSoto Central High School and Caledonia High School. He also worked with Jackson Futbol Club, Tupelo Futbol Club, Lobos Rush, and the Mississippi Olympic Development Program.
Blake’s ties to Belhaven run deep. He finished his college career at the school after transferring from Itawamba Community College, spending two seasons as a goalkeeper and earning NCCAA All-Region honors. He also played a season with Mississippi Brilla FC in USL League Two.
He graduated from Belhaven in 2019 with a degree in history and earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from Arkansas State University in 2024. Blake holds a U.S. Soccer Federation D License.
