Alcorn State to Open 2026 Football Season with Week Zero Game Against Miles

Alcorn State has announced it will open its 2026 football season with a week zero game against Miles at Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium. The game is scheduled for Aug. 29 with a 6 p.m. kickoff, according to Athletic Director E. D’Wayne Robinson.

Robinson, who recently completed his second year leading the department, said the game adds excitement to the upcoming season, which features five home games in Lorman, Mississippi. He also noted that Miles has a strong fan and alumni following and said activities surrounding the game will be announced in the coming weeks.

Individual and season tickets for the 2026 season are available through MyImpactTickets, the school said. Alcorn head coach Cedric Thomas praised Miles, noting their strong 2024 season and intent to compete within the SIAC. “Coach [Sam] Shade has been doing a phenomenal job over there, and we’re looking forward to an exciting contest in week zero,” Thomas said.

Robinson added that additional game-day activities and themes will be revealed later this summer. The schedule now includes home games against Miles, Texas Southern, Arkansas Baptist, Florida A&M, and Jackson State.
