Alcorn State Cross Country Announces 2026 Schedule
Alcorn State University announced its 2026 men’s and women’s cross country schedules Thursday, under the direction of new head coach Ryan McKenzie. Both programs will compete in five regular-season meets, with the possibility of two additional postseason events.
The teams will participate in three Mississippi courses that carried them through last season before traveling to Tallahassee, Florida, for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championships. The season begins September 4 at the Mississippi Christian Opener in Clinton.
Alcorn will return to Clinton for the Belhaven Invitational on Oct. 3 and the Watson Classic on Oct. 16. Between those meets, the team will compete in Monroe, Louisiana, at the ULM Warhawk Invitational on Sept. 25. The SWAC Championships are scheduled for Oct. 27 at Apalachee Regional Park, the same venue that will host the NCAA South Regional on Nov. 13, if the Braves qualify.
If successful, the team could advance to the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Nov. 21 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course. The school encouraged fans to follow updates on Twitter at @BravesSports, and on Instagram and YouTube through @AlcornSports and Braves Sports Network, respectively.
