Delta State Athletics Names Connor Recio as New Operations Coordinator
Delta State University has named Connor Recio as its new Coordinator of Athletics Operations, according to an announcement from Athletic Director Mike Kinnison.
Recio joins the Statesmen after serving as a graduate assistant in athletics administration at Auburn University at Montgomery. There, he managed game day operations, compliance, and event logistics, serving as the lead for home athletic events and overseeing tennis match operations.
He also assisted with facility setup, ticketing, concessions, video production, and maintained NCAA and conference compliance documentation, Kinnison said. “I’m pleased to add Connor to our athletic staff,” Kinnison said. “His responsibilities are vital to our game day experience for fans and student-athletes. He demonstrated a strong skill set during the interview process, and I look forward to the community welcoming him.”
Prior to Auburn, Recio worked as an assistant tournament director for the Collegiate Conference of the South, managing championship events, scoreboard, and livestream operations. He also interned in game day operations at Huntingdon College, assisting with event setup and logistics.
A former student-athlete at Huntingdon, Recio played football from 2020 to 2023, helping the Hawks win back-to-back USA South Conference titles in 2021 and 2022. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Huntingdon in May 2024 and a master’s degree in sport management from Auburn University at Montgomery in May 2026.
“I’m excited to join Delta State Athletics and become part of such a great community,” Recio said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute and help create positive experiences for student-athletes, coaches, and fans.”
Recio, a native of Orlando, Florida, resides in Cleveland.
