Lady Warriors look poised for breakout season after pair of big wins to open year
The Pontotoc Lady Warriors are looking for a deep playoff run this season after an earlier than expected departure from the 4A state playoffs a season ago.
Given how they’ve taken care of business early this season, they are locked on to their mission.
The Lady Warriors rolled through Center Hill at the Hound Dog Classic by a 65-32 margin to open their season. Dee Dee Shepherd led the way with 14 points while Sky Vaughn and Samya Brooks scored 13 points each.
Pontotoc then got an early season look at the squad that dispatched them from last years playoffs with a trip to New Albany.
The Lady Warriors came away with a big road win, 65-51. Pontotoc was led in scoring by Dee Dee Shepherd with 19 points. Samya Brooks contributed 15 points while Angela Middleton added 11.
