Ole Miss Soccer to Face No. 5 Alabama on the Road Friday

Ole Miss Soccer will play its next match Friday night at Alabama, facing the No. 5 Crimson Tide at 7 p.m. CT at Alabama Soccer Stadium, according to the university’s athletic department.

The Rebels enter the game with a 7-5-0 overall record after a 2-0 loss to Texas on Sunday. Despite the setback, Ole Miss has demonstrated resilience, winning seven matches this season by shutout and maintaining a perfect 7-0 record when scoring first.

Eight different players have scored for the Rebels, with Sarah Granno, Ava Ghoreishi, Teaghan Irvin and Becca Skinner leading with two goals each. Ghoreishi has also scored two game-winning goals.

The Rebels are led by first-year head coach Todd Shulenberger, who joined the program after a successful tenure at Washington State. The team has used 12 different starting lineups and features a roster with 17 newcomers, including transfers from Washington State and other programs.

Alabama, ranked fifth nationally, owns an 11-1-0 record this season and is undefeated in SEC play at 4-0-0. The Crimson Tide has allowed only one goal in conference matches and boasts seven shutouts overall. Leading scorer Larkin Thomason has nine goals and two assists, with three game-winners.
