Ole Miss Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss Named SEC Offensive Player of the Week

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has been named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Chambliss led the Rebels to a 32-24 win over No. 7 LSU in Oxford on Saturday.

Chambliss threw for 363 yards and three touchdowns, completing a career-high 33 passes. The senior quarterback helped Ole Miss build an early 10-0 lead, connecting with Traylon Ray for a 21-yard touchdown and later finding Deuce Alexander in the end zone before halftime to make it 24-7.

After LSU tied the game at 24-24, Chambliss responded with a rushing touchdown and a two-point conversion to put Ole Miss ahead for good. The quarterback now averages 308 yards passing per game, sixth nationally, and leads the SEC in completions per game at 25.7, according to the conference.

The Rebels, ranked No. 4 in the AP Poll, will face No. 21 Florida in Gainesville on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT, with the game airing on ABC.
