Ole Miss Faces Florida in Key SEC Matchup in Gainesville

Gainesville, Fla. — The University of Mississippi football team, ranked No. 4 nationally, will play its first SEC road game Saturday against No. 21 Florida at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Central time and will be broadcast on ABC.

Ole Miss (3-0, 1-0 SEC) is coming off a win over LSU and looks to extend its winning streak. The Rebels’ head coach Pete Golding leads the team into the matchup, which marks the 28th all-time meeting between the two programs. The last meeting in 2025 resulted in a 34-24 victory for Ole Miss in Oxford.

Florida (3-0) opened the season with victories over Florida Atlantic and Campbell before securing a conference win at Auburn last week. The Gators are averaging 54 points per game and allowing 21. Florida’s ground game has been effective, with junior running back Jadan Baugh rushing for 458 yards and eight touchdowns through three games.

Ole Miss will rely on quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns against LSU last week, and wide receiver Traylon Ray, who posted 115 yards and a touchdown in the same game. Defensive back Jaylon Braxton also played a key role, intercepting a pass in the final moments to seal the victory.

Florida’s offense is led by quarterback Aaron Philo, who has thrown for 721 yards and six touchdowns. Baugh continues to be a focal point for the Gators, with his consistent rushing production. Junior linebacker Myles Graham anchors the Gators’ defense, tallying 20 tackles so far this season.
