Ole Miss Announces 2026 NFL Season Roster Updates
Ole Miss has revealed that 25 alumni are competing on NFL rosters as the 2026 season begins, including six rookies, the university announced Monday.
Among the notable players is A.J. Brown, who was traded to the New England Patriots after four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Brown, a second-round pick and Ole Miss’s career receiving yards leader, compiled 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns in Philadelphia, earning two Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl title. He now joins the Patriots, where he is expected to be a key offensive weapon.
Other former Rebels on active rosters include Jaxson Dart, quarterback for the New York Giants, and Evan Engram, a tight end with the Denver Broncos. Dart finished fourth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting last season, rushing for nine touchdowns. Engram, a two-time Pro Bowler, has accumulated 546 receptions and 5,383 yards in his career.
Defensive players such as Kapena Gushiken, a rookie safety with the Colts, and De’Zhaun Stribling, a wide receiver drafted 33rd overall by the San Francisco 49ers, are also part of the league’s active roster. Gushiken recorded 55 tackles and an interception in his final college season at Ole Miss, while Stribling posted 811 yards and six touchdowns in 2025.
The roster includes veteran players like D.K. Metcalf of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dawson Knox of the Buffalo Bills, both of whom have established significant NFL careers. Metcalf, a two-time Pro Bowler, finished last season with 59 catches and 850 yards, while Knox has totaled 2,694 yards and 27 touchdowns since 2019.
A number of players are currently on injured reserve, including cornerback Trey Amos, who was a second-round pick in 2025, and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, a five-time Pro Bowler now in his tenth NFL season. Several rookies and practice squad members also represent Ole Miss in the league, such as Wydett Williams Jr., a safety with the Arizona Cardinals, and Nick Broeker, an offensive lineman on the Buffalo Bills.
Ole Miss continues to be a prominent pipeline of NFL talent, with alumni contributing across multiple teams and positions this season, the university said.
