The Mississippi State men’s tennis team finished the SEC StarkVegas Showdown with a record of one win and two losses, according to athletic communications. The Bulldogs secured a victory against Vanderbilt but fell to Auburn and Alabama over the weekend in Starkville, Mississippi.

Senior Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes led the Bulldogs with two singles wins and two doubles victories alongside teammate Segundo Goity Zapico. Goity Zapico also finished the weekend on a high note with a win over Alabama’s Theo Hegarty. Freshmen Luigi Valletta and Jacopo Borsoi contributed three singles wins combined during the tournament.

Auburn topped the standings, winning their matches against Mississippi State and Alabama. Alabama finished second, with wins over Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. Vanderbilt closed out the event with a win over Auburn on Sunday, completing the round-robin format.
