Dak Prescott Sets Franchise Record in Cowboys’ Week 2 Win

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes in a 37-20 win over Washington on Sunday. The performance gave Prescott 249 career touchdown passes, the most in franchise history, surpassing Tony Romo, according to team sources.

Prescott completed 26 of 31 passes without an interception and connected with CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson for two touchdowns each. Pro Football Focus rates Prescott as the second-best passer in the NFL through the first two weeks of the season, with an 88.7 grade. His 90.0 offensive grade ranks third among NFL quarterbacks this year, sources said.

Other notable performances include Tennessee’s Jeffrey Simmons, who recorded six tackles, including a sack, to lead the Titans’ defense. Kansas City’s Chris Jones also made six stops during an overtime victory Sunday night. Elgton Jenkins and Charles Cross played every offensive snap for Cleveland and Seattle, respectively, with Jenkins earning the highest pass blocking grade among NFL centers at 79.7, and Cross posting the Seahawks’ top pass blocking score of 85.3, according to reports.

Rookie Brenen Thompson caught his first NFL pass, a 13-yard reception for the Los Angeles Chargers. Nathaniel Watson was activated from Cleveland’s practice squad and made a solo tackle on special teams. Several former Mississippi State players participated across the league, including Devonté Booth, Logan Cooke, and Jaden Crumedy, among others, with varying levels of activity during Week 2 games.
