Bellendir earns SEC golfer of the week honors

Mississippi State sophomore Alicia Bellendir was named the SEC Golfer of the Week after claiming co-medalist honors at The Fin in her home state of Texas.

Bellendir finished the tournament at 5 under for her first career win. Her 6-under round last Tuesday put her in the lead heading into the final round and was the lowest round of the event. She also led the field with 18 birdies during the week.

The honor followed a consistent fall season. Bellendir finished 11th or better in every fall event and recorded four top-20 finishes.

Bellendir and the Bulldogs are scheduled to return to competition Feb. 1 at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida.
