Millsaps’ Abi Cerwick named SAA women’s golf athlete of the week

Millsaps junior Abi Cerwick was named the Southern Athletic Association Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after a sixth-place finish at the Crusader Cup in Westworth Village, Texas. The award followed a vote by SAA sports information directors.

Cerwick recorded rounds of 83 and 79 for a 162 total, 18 over par. She made two birdies in the first round and one in the second, leading the Majors at the tournament Monday and Tuesday. Millsaps placed third as a team.

The Majors are scheduled to return to competition in the spring, with their schedule to be announced in the coming weeks, according to the college. Both Millsaps golf teams are set to compete at the 2027 SAA Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships in Dickson, Tennessee, April 23-25.
