Jones volleyball sweeps Wallace State-Selma on the road

SELMA, Ala. — The Jones College volleyball team defeated Wallace State-Selma in straight sets Tuesday evening, winning 25-14, 25-7, and 25-13. The Bobcats improved to 14-5 overall with the victory.

Jones controlled the match offensively, finishing with 31 kills and only six attack errors on 60 swings for a .417 hitting percentage. They also recorded 15 service aces and 28 digs. The team was especially efficient in the second set, putting down 12 kills without an error on 16 attempts to hit .750 in that frame.

Jones hit .381 in the first set before closing out the sweep with a 25-13 victory in the third. Keira Hariel led the offense with 18 assists and a match-high seven service aces. She also added a kill and two digs. Selah Sandridge contributed five kills on seven swings without an error, hitting .714, while Myah Favre added five kills on eight attempts for a .625 percentage. Favre also recorded eight assists and six digs.

The Bobcats are scheduled to return to action Friday, Oct. 2, at the Alabama Gulf Coast Classic. Their first match against Gadsden State is set for 11 a.m.
