Jones College Extends Home Win Streak to 13 with 7-0 Victory Over Dyersburg State
ELLISVILLE, Miss. — The Jones College men’s soccer team remained unbeaten with a commanding 7-0 victory over Dyersburg State on Thursday night at the Bobcat Soccer Complex. The Bobcats, ranked No. 4, improved to 6-0-1 this season, while Dyersburg State dropped to 0-4.
Braden Buchanan scored two goals within the first 18 minutes to set the tone for Jones. He opened the scoring in the seventh minute off an assist from Calvin Harrison and added another in the 18th minute after a pass from Mario Novaku. Jones led 4-0 at halftime, with Harrison scoring unassisted in the 36th minute and Novaku notching his second assist of the game.
Jones continued its offensive pressure early in the second half. Louie Fitzpatrick scored in the 49th minute off a Dawson Dykes assist, and an own goal in the 65th minute pushed the lead to 6-0. Jackson Warren capped the scoring in the 89th minute with help from Sam Rogers. Six different players scored for the Bobcats, led by Buchanan’s two goals. Novaku finished with two assists, while Harrison added a goal and an assist.
Jones dominated statistically, outshooting Dyersburg State 29-0, including 23-0 in shots on goal. The Bulldogs’ goalkeeper, Gage Foster, made 16 saves. The Bobcats employed three goalkeepers—Aiden Reiter, Teshaun Norris, and Jordan Taylor—none of whom faced a shot on goal, as the defense kept Dyersburg State off the scoreboard.
