Southern Miss baseball announces 2027 schedule

Southern Miss announced a 54-game baseball schedule for 2027, with 27 games at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field and opponents that include eight teams from last season’s NCAA Tournament.

The schedule features four teams that played in the College World Series: national champion Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Alabama and Troy. Other postseason teams on the slate are Kansas, Mississippi State, Coastal Carolina and Louisiana.

The Golden Eagles begin the season Feb. 19-21 with a three-game series against North Dakota State, their first meeting with the program. Home nonconference series include South Florida, Feb. 26-28, and Kansas State, Feb. 23-24. Mississippi State visits March 9, and Ole Miss comes to Hattiesburg on April 14.

Southern Miss will play consecutive weekends in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in March. It is scheduled to face Kansas, UC Irvine and Oklahoma at the Frisco College Baseball Classic, March 5-7, then play a three-game series at Dallas Baptist, March 12-14. The team also has road games at Southeastern Louisiana on March 2 and Alabama on March 16.

Sun Belt Conference play begins at home against Marshall, March 19-21. Other home league series are scheduled against Arkansas State, Louisiana, South Alabama and James Madison. Southern Miss’ conference road series include Coastal Carolina, Louisiana Tech, Troy, Georgia Southern and ULM.

The schedule also lists nonconference home games against LSU New Orleans, Southeastern Louisiana and Tulane, plus road games at Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Tulane. Southern Miss is scheduled to play Nicholls at Keesler Federal Park in Biloxi on May 4.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a 44-17 season in which they won the Sun Belt regular-season and conference tournament titles and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 22nd time. The top 10 Sun Belt teams are scheduled to meet in Montgomery, Alabama, May 25-30, for the conference tournament at DABOS Park. Southern Miss said season-ticket renewals for its 2027 home schedule are underway.
