Mississippi Valley State’s Wooten Named to Betty Austin Invitational All-Tournament Team

DELTA, Miss. — Mississippi Valley State volleyball player Taylor Wooten has been named to the 2026 Betty Austin Invitational All-Tournament Team, the school announced. Wooten’s performance during the tournament, hosted by Alabama A&M University, earned her the recognition.

Wooten provided a strong all-around effort throughout the event, contributing consistently against South Carolina State, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and Delaware State. Her leadership and production on the court helped showcase her impact during the season-opening event.

This marks the first individual tournament honor for Mississippi Valley State in the 2026 season. The Delta Devils will return to action Thursday, Sept. 10, when they face Northwestern State at 4 p.m. in the opening match of the Bulldog Bash in Ruston, Louisiana.

The all-tournament team included co-Most Valuable Players Aaliyah Mitchell of Delaware State and Gerren Tomlin of Alabama A&M. Other selections featured players from Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Florida A&M, North Carolina Central, and South Carolina State, among others.
