Mississippi Christian volleyball falls to UAH in four sets
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Mississippi Christian fell to UAH 3-1 Friday at SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall. The Choctaws won the second set but lost the others in the non-conference match.
MC opened the first set strong, with kills from Audrianna Green and Cydney Mitchell, an ace from Meg Paparella, and an UAH attack error. The Blue and Gold led 6-2 before UAH responded with a 10-point run to take control. UAH closed out the first set 25-14.
The Choctaws rallied in the second set, overcoming a 20-18 deficit to win 25-20. Reese Regner served the final six points of the set, helping MC erase the deficit with timely kills and an ace from Samarin Kipple. UAH took the third set 25-23 after a back-and-forth battle.
In the third set, MC built an early 9-2 lead but UAH responded with an eight-point run to take the lead and ultimately won the set. The Blue and Gold took the fourth set 25-21, despite a late comeback attempt by MC. Cydney Mitchell led the team with 12 kills and 15.5 points, along with six blocks and seven digs.
Samarin Kipple recorded a team-high 23 digs and four assists, while Reese Regner added 24 assists and 10 digs. Meg Paparella contributed 10 kills, 14 digs, and an ace. The Choctaws will next face Montevallo on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Montevallo, Alabama.
