Mississippi Christian defeated Christian Brothers 3-0 in a volleyball match Tuesday in Clinton, Mississippi, according to the school’s release. The Choctaws outperformed the Blue and Gold with 43 kills and held Christian Brothers to a .025 hitting percentage.
MC built early momentum in the first set with a 10-0 run, including nine straight service points from Cydney Mitchell. The set saw back-and-forth exchanges, but the Choctaws pulled ahead with key kills from Foster, Williams, and Fromdahl, ultimately winning 25-15.
In the second set, Christian Brothers gained a 12-10 lead but the Choctaws responded with a seven-point run, largely on Reese Regner’s serves. MC maintained their advantage and closed out the set 25-20, despite late efforts from Christian Brothers to narrow the gap.
The third set was closely contested, with Christian Brothers tying the score at 22-22. MC scored the final three points, including a kill from Paparella, to win 25-22 and complete the sweep.
Foster and Holland Williams led the team with 11 kills each. Foster hit .308 and added two blocks, while Williams hit .304 with two block assists. Regner contributed 18 assists, 13 digs, and two aces. Mitchell added six kills, three solo blocks, and one ace. The Choctaws are scheduled to host Valdosta State on Friday at 6 p.m. in Clinton.
