The Millsaps College women’s golf team competed in the Lee & Joe Duncan Rhodes Invitational over the weekend at The Links at Audubon in Memphis. The Majors finished 20th among 56 teams.
Junior Abigail Cerwick led the team with a two-round total of 156, finishing tied for 20th place. She shot rounds of 79 and 77 on the par-71 course.
A group of four freshmen followed, including Audrey Perry, Hynslee Goff, Madison Baker, and Addison Forbes. Perry placed in a tie for 43rd with a total of 169, while Goff was 51st at 175. Baker finished 52nd at 176, and Forbes was 53rd with 180.
The team’s next competition is the Carla Spenkoch Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, scheduled for Oct. 12-13. The leaderboard was led by Sewanee, which finished with a combined score of 593, followed by Piedmont and Oglethorpe.
Millsaps posted a total score of 675, sitting 107 strokes behind the leaders. The team continues to develop as the season progresses, according to the program.
