LeTourneau dominates Millsaps women’s soccer, 8-0

Jackson, Miss. — The Millsaps College women’s soccer team suffered an 8-0 defeat against LeTourneau University Saturday at Harper Davis Field.

The Majors managed four shots, including one on goal, while facing 26 shots and 13 on target from the Yellowjackets. Freshman Olivia Umanzor recorded five saves and helped the team fend off several shot-and-corner sequences from LeTourneau without conceding during parts of the first half.

LeTourneau scored five times in the opening 16 minutes and 38 seconds to take a commanding lead. Millsaps kept the Yellowjackets off the board during a later stretch that included five shots and two corner kicks, with Umanzor making a save at 28:32. Despite the pressure, the Yellowjackets added three more goals in the second half, even as freshman Kayla Borden made four saves for the Majors.

The Majors generated some late offensive activity, with shots from senior Alex Bremond and freshmen Eden Birch and Hailie Moorer, as well as an 87:43 corner kick. However, LeTourneau extended its lead late in the game to secure the 8-0 victory.

Millsaps is scheduled to return to action Wednesday against MUW at 6 p.m. in Columbus, Miss. Live video and stats will be available at gomajors.com. Follow Millsaps women’s soccer on X and Instagram, like Millsaps Majors Athletics on Facebook, and visit gomajors.com for updates.
