Jackson State enters FCS Top 25 at No. 25 after beating Southern

Jackson State has debuted at No. 25 in the latest Stats Perform FCS Top 25 poll, following its 35-17 win over Southern in the Southwestern Athletic Conference opener. The Tigers, now 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play, received votes last week before moving into the top 25 this week.

The top 10 includes Montana State, South Dakota State, Montana, Tarleton State, North Dakota, Lehigh, Stephen F. Austin, Youngstown State, Tennessee Tech and Illinois State. Austin Peay is ranked 11th, followed by Idaho State, South Dakota, Lamar, South Carolina State, UC Davis, West Florida, Campbell, Northern Arizona and Harvard.

The final five teams in the poll are Southern Illinois, Colgate, Mercer, Richmond and Jackson State. The Tigers are set to travel to Mobile, Alabama, this Saturday to compete against Alabama A&M at the Gulf Coast Challenge held at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
