Jackson State Dominates Tuskegee in Second Half for 41-7 Win

Jackson State defeated Tuskegee 41-7 Saturday night at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium, pushing the Tigers to 3-0 this season. The Golden Tigers fell to 1-2.

Jackson State’s defense held Tuskegee to 198 total yards and just 35 rushing yards on 34 attempts. The Tigers also recorded four sacks and forced two turnovers, scoring 10 points off turnovers. Defensive MVP Michael Johnson Jr. led the effort with three solo tackles and two sacks.

Jared Lockhart threw for 376 yards and four touchdowns, completing 21 of 30 passes without an interception. He also scored all four of Jackson State’s offensive touchdowns, including an 84-yard strike to Jaden Lockhart just 11 seconds into the third quarter. Lockhart’s 376 passing yards marked his second straight game with more than 370 yards through the air.

Jackson State took a 10-0 lead at halftime after a 42-yard field goal by Andrew Ivaniciuc and a 39-yard touchdown pass from Lockhart to Nate Rembert. The Tigers then scored three touchdowns in less than six minutes during the third quarter, including a 15-yard pass to Nate Blount IV and an 84-yard scoring strike to Jaden Lockhart.

Blount, named Offensive MVP, rushed for 108 yards on 14 carries and caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown. Jaden Lockhart led the receivers with four catches for 101 yards and a touchdown, while Sebastien Saint-Louis added 47 yards and a score. The Tigers finished with 492 total yards, including 376 passing yards.

Jackson State will host Southern next weekend at Veterans Memorial Stadium, with the game broadcast on ESPN+.
