Blue Mountain Christian University Volleyball head coach Reid Gann announced the addition of Sara Eason as assistant coach on Tuesday, July 25.

An Olive Branch native, Eason comes to the program with a wealth of volleyball experience.

An assistant for DeSoto Central High School from 2021-23, she has also been head coach of DeSoto Legacy from 2016-21 and currently the head coach of Relentless Volleyball Academy in Hernando.

“This is a great opportunity for me that came at the right time,” Eason said.  “I hope to grow from the experience and help Coach Gann continue to build this program.”

Eason is a 2009 graduate of Northpoint Christian School and earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Mississippi State University in 2013.

“My goal is to instill a mindset of growth in players, so they strive to never stop learning in all aspects of life,” Eason said. “When you put Christ at the center of your world, the possibilities are endless.  He has a great plan for everyone, and I hope to show that through this journey.”

Gann commented, “I am excited about Sara coming on board.  She is going to bring a lot of coaching experience and enthusiasm into the program.  I believe she will make a big difference for us.”

Eason becomes the second coach in as many days to be attracted away to BMCU from DeSoto County, following Monday’s announcement of Lewisburg Middle School basketball coach Andrea Lewis being named as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team at Blue Mountain Christian University.
