Delta State Lists Week’s Athletics Events, Recent Team Highlights

Delta State Athletics listed swimming and diving, women’s soccer and cross country events for the week of Nov. 2, including competition scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

Women’s soccer was scheduled to face the University of Montevallo in Huntsville, Alabama, at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6. The cross country team was set to compete at the Gulf South Conference championship in Nashville, Tennessee, with the location details listed as to be announced. Swimming and diving was scheduled to compete at Ouachita Baptist University on Friday and Henderson State University on Saturday, Nov. 7, both in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

The update also cited recent results and honors. It said Caroline Chandler scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 women’s soccer victory, lifting the Lady Statesmen to the Gulf South Conference semifinals. Price Nixon was recognized for a performance that included the game-winning field goal in a football win.
