Delta State Athletics Schedule Highlights for the Week
Delta State University’s men’s and women’s teams are back in action this week, with multiple competitions scheduled across various sports. On Monday, September 21, the Mississippi Farm Bureau will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. in the Arant Family Room. The event will be streamed live on the Delta State YouTube channel (@DSUStatesmen), with media invited to attend. The men’s golf team will compete at the Dunning Invitational at Mossy Oak Golf Course in West Point, Mississippi, with live results available.
Tuesday’s schedule includes continued play at the Dunning Invitational for the men’s golf team. On Wednesday, the men’s soccer team hosts the University of West Alabama at 7:30 p.m. at the Jerry F. Smith Track & Field Complex in Livingston, Alabama. The women’s soccer team will play the same opponent at 5 p.m. at the same location, with live streams and live stats available for both matches.
There are no events scheduled for Thursday, but on Friday, the swim and dive team will compete at the Magnolia State Event at the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatics Center in Cleveland, Mississippi. Fans can watch the event live online. Over the weekend, the women’s soccer team will face the University of Montevallo on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by the men’s soccer match at 3:30 p.m., both at Delta Field in Cleveland, with live streams and stats.
The cross country team will compete at Blue Mountain University in Mississippi, with the event date to be determined. There are no scheduled events on Sunday. Recent highlights include a second-half surge by the Statesmen to beat Mississippi Valley 21-6 at the Delta Classic, and the Lady Statesmen’s 6-1 victory over UAH. The Statesmen also suffered a 1-0 loss in a defensive battle against UAH, with standout performances from Clark and Hooker earning player of the week honors, according to team sources.
