Central Missouri routs Delta State 59-10 in football game

The University of Central Missouri defeated Delta State 59-10 Saturday night at Audrey J. Walton Stadium in Warrensburg, Missouri. The Mules scored twice in the first quarter and built a 31-7 halftime lead, controlling the game from start to finish.

Central Missouri totaled 674 yards of offense, including 460 passing yards, while limiting Delta State to 146 yards overall. Mules quarterback Jordan Pachot threw for 391 yards and four touchdowns, adding a rushing score. Marlon Lindsey caught two touchdown passes in the first quarter as the Mules jumped out to an early lead.

Delta State’s key highlight came in the second quarter when Jekerious Williams returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, cutting the deficit to 28-7. The Mules responded with a field goal before halftime to extend their advantage. The Statesmen scored their final points in the fourth quarter on a 44-yard field goal by Price Nixon.

Defensively, Rickie Davis Jr. led Delta State with 17 total tackles, while Tavian Moore added 15 stops. Despite their efforts, the Statesmen were on the field for more than 36 minutes, as Central Missouri maintained possession for most of the game.

Delta State will play next week in the Delta Classic against Mississippi Valley State on the road. The game is scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. Central Time.
