Belhaven’s Adrian Sanchez Named CCS Offensive Player of the Week

Jackson, Miss. — Adrian Sanchez scored or assisted in all three of Belhaven University’s wins last week, earning his first Collegiate Conference of the South Offensive Player of the Week award.

The senior forward totaled three goals and one assist during the team’s 3-0 stretch. He scored a penalty kick in a 9-0 victory over Tougaloo and scored twice in a 3-1 win against Lyon, coming within four minutes of halftime. Sanchez also assisted Gabriel Glatt’s goal in a 4-2 victory at Hendrix, leading the Blazers to their third straight win.

Sanchez, a Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, native, has started all eight matches this season. He leads Belhaven with 21 shots and has scored four goals with nine points overall. Seven of those points came during the team’s winning streak last week.
