Pontotoc gets win over tough out of state opponent at Robertson’s Lady Challenge

The Pontotoc Lady Warriors picked up a big win over a tough out of state opponent on Saturday at the Robertson’s Sportswear Lady Challenge, rolling to a 68-56 victory over McNairy Central.

The Lady Warriors led 22-17 after the first quarter thanks to a combined 20 points from Dee Dee Shephard and Samya Brooks and never trailed from that point forward.

McNairy came in to the contest with a record of 15-3 on the season while Pontotoc picked up their 21st win of the season.

Brooks led the Lady Warriors with 26 while Shephard put up 22. Angela Middleton added 13 to round out the double figure scoring.

Pontotoc is back in action on Tuesday as they take on the IAHS Lady Indians in a district matchup.

The Lady Warriors have already wrapped up the regular season district title.
