Woods, Gonzalez Named to All-Tournament Team at Itawamba Cross Over

Fulton, Miss. – Two players from Northwest Mississippi Community College were named to the All-Tournament Team at the Itawamba Cross Over. Ariana Woods and Sofia Gonzalez received the honors after strong performances during the tournament.

Woods, a sophomore, finished with 47 kills and a .293 hitting percentage. She also contributed 10 blocks, including one solo. Woods made the All-Tournament Team for the second consecutive year, also earning the honor in 2025. She posted double-digit kills in every match and added multiple aces, including four in one game.

Fellow freshman Gonzalez, a six-rotation player from Lake Cormorant, had a standout tournament as well. She totaled 45 kills, 44 digs, and two blocks. Gonzalez’s performance in the second match of the tournament against Northwest Shoals Community College included a career-high 21 kills.

Northwest Mississippi continues their season tonight with a match against Williams Baptist University’s JV team, scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Fans can follow updates and news on the team at nwccrangers.com and on the school’s social media channels.
