Weather prompts schedule change for Southern Miss baseball series with ULM
The University of Southern Mississippi announced Thursday evening that inclement weather will alter this weekend’s Sun Belt Conference baseball series against ULM at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg.
The series opener, originally scheduled for Friday evening, will now be part of a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. The series finale on Sunday has been pushed back two hours to 3 p.m., according to the university.
Tickets for the original Friday and Saturday games will be honored during the doubleheader. Gates will open at 11 a.m., with ticket holders admitted based on their original tickets—Friday’s tickets for game one and Saturday’s for game two. Parking lots will open at 10 a.m., and individuals with baseball parking passes will have access throughout the day.
The schedule change aims to accommodate the forecasted weather conditions, ensuring all three games can be played. The university did not specify the nature of the weather expected but emphasized the importance of safety and flexibility for fans and players.
Southern Miss previously announced schedule adjustments for other games, including a May 14 matchup against Georgia Southern and a Tuesday night game at Tulane. The team continues to adapt its schedule based on weather and other logistical considerations.
